Composition:
Each ml Injection contains Cloprostenol Sodium BP 262.93 mcg eq.
to Cloprostenol 250 mcg.
Description:
Cloprostenol is a synthetic prostaglandin analogue structurally related to Prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α), for use in cows and mares.As a potent luteolytic agent, it causes functional and morphological regression of the corpus luteum (luteolysis) in cows and mares followed by return to oestrus and normal ovulation.
Indications:
Cows:
• Functional ovarian disorders such as anoestrus due to persistent corpus luteum, sub-oestrus, luteal or follicular cysts
• Synchronization of oestrus
• Induction of parturition or abortion
• Post-puerperium disorders of the uterus (e.g. pyometra, endometritis)
Mares:
• Induction of luteolysis
• Termination of persistent di-oestrus
• Termination of pseudo-pregnancy
• Treatment of lactation anoestrus
• Induction of oestrus Cycle
Dosage and Administration:
Cows: 2 ml per single or repeat doses by intramuscular injection in the antarior half of the neck.
Mares: Upto 400kg body weight: 0.5-1 ml by intramuscular injection. Over 400kg body weight:1-2 ml by intramuscular injection.
Or, as prescribed by the Registered Veterinary doctor.
Contra-indications:
Do not administer by the intravenous route. Do not use in pregnant animals, unless the objective is to terminate pregnancy. Do not use in mares suffering from acute or sub acute disorders of the gastrointestinal or respiratory system.
Side effects:
Use for induction of parturition or abortion in cow is accompanied by an increased incidence of retained foetal membranes.
Withdrawal times: Meat: Nill ; Milk: Nil.
Storage:
Store between 2°C-25°C temperature, protect from light and Moisture.
Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
